Empowered women, empower women

Women supporting women is so important for so many reasons. It brings women of all walks of life together. It brings women together from different cities, states, and countries. It makes real life friendships as adults possible. It’s truly special and necessary for women to support women in real life and on social media. As women, we should always be focusing on how to help each other not only in times of need, but through everyday life. Supporting each other on our best days as well as our worst.

One of my biggest focuses on social media is helping others. Like I mention in my Blog, I am nowhere near perfect, and I don’t have life figured out, but I’ve created open spaces for myself and others to share, grow, learn and help each other. My voice on social media is meant to connect, inspire and empower women and hopefully make the digital world, seem a little less lonely.

Follow what feels good in the moment, every moment, and it will lead you through a most excellent life.

Change your perception

The word “social media” can bring up a lot of emotions- some might even say triggers. And it’s no secret that there are so many negative connotations about social media: jealousy, spite, comparison, judgment, doubt, etc. The way I view social media has drastically changed throughout the years however. My perception has changed by creating my own Blog and business account on Instagram.

My platforms strive to be a space where community is valued and all things from positivity, happiness, inspiration, and encouragement are shared. I don’t view social media as a place of negativity anymore. I don’t see comparison. I have recently expanded my niche to a more lifestyle based brand aiming to serve others with tips and tricks for daily life situations. Due to my specific niche of positivity and encouragement, I don’t have the worries of comparing myself with others because I don’t see others as obstacles. And I definitely don’t see the race of getting to a certain number of followers or racking in collaborations, sponsorships or brand deals. Of course it would be nice to get paid to do all of these things via social media! But that’s not my goal; that’s not why I created my brand. When it’s the right time, those things will come, and I have faith that they will exceed all my expectations.

Don’t use social media to impress people, use it to impact people.

Think Feel Happy

First and foremost, I have created my platforms as a space for myself and others to go to when they need supportive human connection. This is the place you go when you need a pep talk, want to feel safe, need words of empowerment, encouragement and to overall build confidence and maintain a positive mindset! I also use my platforms to share my personal life journey to happiness. I am nowhere close to perfect, and I would never claim to be- we are all on our own life journey to discover happiness! My platforms on social media will always be a safe place to express creativity and express your true self. If you relate to my stories or would like to share your own stories, this is the space to do so! As my tag line states, “Let’s take this life journey together; you’re not alone in this!”

This community creates as a positive space for followers from all walks of life to relate, socialize, and be themselves! These are the reasons why I look at social media as a positive and creative outlet for myself and for others. Let’s keep social media an encouragement based community and learn to let go of the negativity and comparisons

Make connections IRL and online.

It is because of social media, that I have made friends from all over the world, and they have become friends that I hold close to my heart. Like many others, I owe Instagram and blogger events so much credit for bringing so many wonderful and talented people into my life. Most of the bloggers I meet (because of Instagram and blogger events) have quickly become some of my closest friends. We plan shooting dates together, plan shopping and lunch dates and plan to go to other events together. We continuously support each other by commenting and liking each other’s posts and always extending a hand when needed. I have experienced so much positivity and support not only as someone on Instagram, but as I also continue to build amazing friendships IRL with people in the social media community.  Next time you open a social media app, try to remind yourself of all of the good and positivity that can come from social media!
